Will be moving there soon and wondering where might be good? Thinking the Little Rock, Fayetteville or Hot Springs area. Any specific recommendations of nice outlying places/small towns just outside of the metro areas? Other ideas? Thanks in advance.

Heard good things about Fort Smith, but no personal experience.

We live across the line in Oklahoma. Both our sons were born in Arkansas. I like NW Arkansas and wouldn't mind living there if I was going to move. The economy is on the rise, there are good schools and quite a bit of outdoor opportunities including the Buffalo River, Ozark National Forest and various state parks. There is minor league baseball, the University of Arkansas with it's sports and academic programs, and good medical facilities. If I were to pick a place to live, it would be Siloam Springs.

North and West of Little Rock are good areas and central to so many places there. Love Petit Jean SP! Hot Springs is about an hour drive and is a very popular tourist city. Fayetteville is a nice college town. Friends of ours lived up in that area and hated it though. Good luck if finding the right place!
