What is your favorite inexpensive photo editing software?
Just basic sizing high-res files for the web, nothing exotic.

PhotoFiltre Portable. Not a trial version, but rather a free version. It includes adjustments for color, size, canvas size. Allows multiple transparent layers, and batch processing. And the JPEG compression can be preset or adjusted when saving. I have a couple dozen graphics processors for various purposes. Each has advantages and disadvantages. But for overall versatility with photos, PhotoFiltre is a good one.

Yeah, you can get really fancy and expensive with this stuff.
I've tried a version of PhotoShop (long ago), and found it to be overkill. In fact, a lot of the software that came with the various cameras I bought was also overkill.
If most of the "editing" you will do is resizing, cropping and such, "paint" is actually sufficient. If you're creating "art" (special effects) or making stuff like collages on a regular basis, then you might need something more powerful.
For the last decade - I suppose - I've opted for the mostly braindead "paint" (because it's always there, you don't have to install it) or a "freebie" piece of software that came with the last backup software/DVD authoring software I bought a long, long time ago. (Explanation: once upon a time, I used to create bootable Linux disks...God, was that a long time ago!)
And, actually, there's a lot of "freebie" stuff on mobile platforms (IOS and Android) that you could use, esp. if you do most of your photography with your smartphone. If not, well...

I use PhotoFiltre for quick, basic stuff. When I need the power of Photoshop (without the price), I use Gimp.

Thanks all! This one is for work. One of these options will be perfect.
