Nice! One of my favorite places. That freezing mist was pretty neat, Huh? We were along the Allegheny near Kennerdell and it was pretty special.

The mist was cool! It really added to the magical feel of the forest.

I almost slammed into an elk Sunday night.
Man, you are an incredible photographer. Those trees almost burst out of my little screen here. Many thanks Mr. Walker.

You're most welcome, and thanks for the compliment! I almost slammed into an elk Sunday night. My rule while driving at night, which I do a fair bit, is to keep the lights on full beam if there is no car in front of me. If I'm following, then the car in front of me is in danger and not me; obviously, I have to keep them dipped if there is a car approaching me, so nothing I can do there. I try and avoid side roads or lesser highways as much as possible, where there isn't as much open space between the road and any woods on the side. Also, I stick to the speed limit in these dangerous times. I can't tell you how many deer, and even elk, I've avoided hitting with the above rules.

In my mid 50s I am WAY overdue to slam an ungulate, almost everyone I know has. I try and limit my night driving here

Those are beautiful. The peaceful feeling from the big trees comes right out of the computer to slow my heartrate In my mid 50s I am WAY overdue to slam an ungulate, almost everyone I know has. I try and limit my night driving here We have. And it wasn't night. Just about 5 pm in summer, so hardly even dusk, maybe late afternoon. I was in the passenger seat, and the buck missed coming through the window by inches. I didn't stop shaking for a long time.
