Spent the weekend on this trail with my daughter and had a very good time. It was pretty busy with other walkers (as opposed to hikers) but we managed to have a very enjoyable trip. The only downside was the lack of fresh water; was told by some others we met there that even if there was water in the creeks at the time, it was discouraged to drink due to the old coal mines in the area.
We were fortunate to get there during what looked like peak time for fall foliage. The trail was in good condition overall, just pretty heavily traveled. We even got lucky with the weather, it was near perfect.
All in all, a great trip.
