Wow! Spectacular! Thank you for sharing. Is this anywhere near where "My Side of the Mountain" was set in the Laurentian Mountains?

I don't know where "My side ..." was set. The Laurentians are north of Montreal. Gaspe is 300km or so to the east. It lies between the Province of New Brunswick and the St Lawerence river.

Thanks for the pics. I've backpacked in the Chic Chocs, fished the Grand Cascapedia and motorcycled around the coast, camping at Forillon. Had some bad experinces the last trip, got the impression Americans weren't welcome, especially if they aren't fluent in French. People in N.B. told me I wasn't wrong. Hope things have changed.

We had no problems at all. And we do not "parle francais". We saw lots of tourists from all over and no one seemed to be having a hard time. Everyone we met was most accommodating. We couldn't get into Forillion as last year Canada waived the daily fee for all national parks. The parks were crammed full. Pretty much no space in any of them.
I might try to sneak in a quick bike trip. But it is a at least a 7 hr drive to just get there. We'll see.
