Everyone seems to love this stuff, so I thought I'd post my versions. I got the basic recipe from somewhere on the net, but I can't remember where, so I can't give credit.
6 servings rolled oats, already prepared 1 cup Brown sugar 1 cup sliced Almonds 1 cup sunflower seeds 2 teaspoons cinnamon 4 apples (peeled and cored)
I just cook the oatmeal, grind up the nuts and seeds in a food processor, then add the apples and cinnamon. (I divide the recipe into 2 parts to make it easier on my cheap food processor). Then I mix in the cooked oatmeal. Then spread the mixture onto dehydrator sheets or parchment paper and dehydrate until crisp. I've done all kinds of variations on this: blueberries instead of apples, adding coconut, using flax seeds instead of sunflower seeds, using dried cherries, etc. This one seems to be the favorite. It can be re-hydrated into oatmeal as well...

Nice. I like it. Oatmeal is a staple for me, on the trail or off. My diet, at least for breakfast, literally does not change at all. I even cook my oatmeal and coffee outside sometimes in the winter, just for fun.
