A hike back in October to beautiful, off trail vistas from the east side of Ricketts Glen, and a gorge with some waterfalls. I hiked on the Old Bulldozer Road Trail before it entered the mountain laurel. I then headed west to the state park boundary, and then east along a ridge above a gorge, following some game trails. The vistas were beautiful, I could see for 20-30 miles. A small lake was in the gorge below. I made the very steep descent to the gorge and saw some waterfalls. This isolated side of the state park had some large trees and cascading streams.
