I recently hiked up the Red Brook Gorge in SGL 57. It is a beautiful place with waterfalls, cascades, pools, slides, big boulders, cliffs and grottos. There are forests of hemlock, pine, spruce, and birch- some trees are large. The creek is red from tannin in the spruce and hemlock swamps at the top of the plateau. There are remnants of an old camp. I heard several owls and saw a bear on the hike out in the twilight.
