This is a somewhat strange request, but hoping some here can help me out.
I am working on a photo-documentary about abandoned antique vehicles that have been left in the woods to rust on public lands over the years. There is a strange kind of beauty when nature starts to take over and plants begin growing through and on top of these abandoned vehicles.
I have already located and photographed a number of these vehicles in the greater Seattle area. For example, on the "Bus Trail" at Lake Tradition, as you might imagine, there is an old abandoned bus that remains to this day.
I am looking for other such vehicles that you may have run across. I am ready to hike, and it doesn't need to be close to Seattle - but as long as it is somewhere in Washington state I will go find it.
If you help me out with identifying a location that I haven't already photographed, I will share a complementary copy of the final product with you! Photos are also welcome, but I won't use them without a release.
Thanks BC

Hi, bc! First, welcome to the Forums. I hope you like kilts, beer, brussels sprouts, beets, and goofiness, because those things are important here To your question, two cases spring to mind. First, I imagine you are aware of the "bike-eating tree" on Vashon Island? It's had a write-up or two, and I'm pretty sure you can google it if you don't already know. I also recall a car in the woods at the bottom of the trail into the Waipio Valley on the Big Island of Hawaii. There's one just off the Coastal Trail at Mt. Tamalpais by SF. And I dimly remember a very old car caught in a slot canyon somewhere in Utah, but I'm dashed if I can recall where. Sounds like kind of an interesting pursuit, and a good excuse to travel.

If you're ever in the Great Smoky Mountains, there are a few of these vehicles on the Lakeside trail adjacent to Fontana Lake.

The Utah pickup is in Bull Valley Gorge, off Skutumpah Road. I attempted to copy and paste the pic, but that didn't work, so hopefully the link will. That's the one. But the link doesn't work.

photos.google.com/album/AF1QipNwUAt_zttdFyaHtmjc0H0Y7_shchR3NyfCKkgHere is the whole pic link. There are multiple pics of the green truck, but you'll have to scroll down to it. If you click on a particular pic, the info will show on the right if I made a comment. Clicking on the white "I" will also bring up the comments. Hope this works.

Iller Creek trail in Spokane, WA. There are two abandoned vehicles on the main loop.

There was that fateful day when I came across Santa's remains.

Yes, it is! Gave us pause as we were nursing our Prius out that road! yep, I took my Ford Focus down the same path and spent the night out in the dunes. I have a better shot on my drive at work.
