Cool! I didn't know rabbitbrush was that widely distributed.

In the Thunder Basin National Grassland, rabbitbrush occasionally lines the drainage areas (even of the highway) for a color contrast to acres of greasewood on more level ground. It seems I never have a camera with me when the rabbitbrush becomes most vivid. Both plants are evidently widespread through the Western steppes and deserts.

It's all over in the Sonoran Desert, and is often in bloom when I'm out there in the fall. I find it very cheerful.

It seems I'm always in the wrong season. There is certainly lots of rabbitbush around the Sonoran, but it's never aesthetically caught my attention. Without a doubt swimswithtrout has the eye to see the invisible detail.

Yep, it's one of the first signs of fall. It grows all over the arid mountains of southern and eastern California, including my backyard. Rabbitbrush in the White Mountains, Sierra Nevada in the distance Rabbitbrush in Forest Falls in the San Bernardino Mountains Rabbitbrush along the PCT near Arrastre Creek in the San Bernardino Mountains
