My plans for a hike in West Virginia got cancelled due to a fire, so I decided to go and visit the waterfalls of Ricketts Glen State Park one more time. The east coast has had almost no rain the past couple of months, so I was worried about the strength of flow of the 22 waterfalls on the twin forks of Kitchen Creek. As I feared, one fork had very little water, but thankfully the other had enough to make the 9hr drive (round-trip) worth it. The place was fast becoming a zoo as the day wore on. While trying to get one photo, near the end, I had to wait for approximately 200 people to get out of the way! I packed up soon after that and drove 5mi away to try and photography some of the waterfalls on Heberly Run. Unfortunately, the sun was shining brightly by now, leading to irksome highlights on the waterfalls, which meant my day was effectively done. I took a couple of documentary photos of Lewis Falls, just to prove I was there and that I made it down to the splash pool, before heading back to Pittsburgh. - Hiking/photography stats: 9mi, ~1300ft gain, 9hr- Total trip time (house-house): 18.5hrs

I was at Ricketts Glenn 49 years ago. I was 6 years old and what I thought was the most monstrous deer of all times went through our site. What a wonderful places and wonderful work from you as usual. Thanks.
