Hello everybody! If you are planning on going to UK, you might want to read my travel stories about it. Mainly focusing on the west coast, north of the Lake District and lingering quite some time in the Isle of Skye. Part one: Three weeks of Scotland - Part one- From Dover up towards Loch Lomond Part two: Scotland - Part two- Around Loch Lomond to Fort William and into the edge of Skye. Part three: Skye and Goodbye to UK- Mainly in Skye. In total we spent three weeks out in UK. We had our own car with us. Most of the time we were camping out with a tent, also used some mountain Bothies, which might be an interesting housing option for many hikers Hope you enjoy. Any questions I'll try to answer as best I can!

Great photos. I recently did a similar trip, around the Lake District, up to Loch Lomond and stayed around Glen Coe myself. I also visited Ft William and climbed Ben Nevis, very much like your "Part Two" trip. It was definitely an amazing trip. I did learn, though, that standard mosquito netting does NOT work to keep midges out

Nice to hear Jay!
Ooh my, I had almost forgotten the midgets. ;-| They apparently also feed on insect repellent, we learned, that only things that keep them somewhat away, are heavy wind and a special kinds of candles.
Otherwise Scotland is breathtakingly beautiful! We definitely are going back, to the very northern part of the Highlands.

I would love to go back myself, I barely scratched the surface of what was there. I have a trip report posted with some photos in this section, some you will recognize from Ben Nevis and also from Glen Coe area. If you decide to go to Northern England again, I might be able to recommend some places for you to see; I visit friends there on a fairly regular basis.
