I enjoyed Meru and like you I had to watch it twice. I preferred much more than Everest which was a bit to "hollywood" for me but that might only be because I saw Meru first.

Beautiful cinematography. Watching them try to fix their shelter pole while roped in was simply amazing.

It is on Showtime now, sometimes comcast lets me record that channel, but not this time.

Watched it twice on Netflix. The second time was mostly just for Jimmy Chin. Be still my beating heart.

I rented this movie from the local library because of this thread. It was indeed a good movie/documentary and as much as I admire them for what they did I have no interest in climbing. I don't have a fear of heights just too many things to worry about that could go wrong. Just not for me.

Loved Meru! I especially liked watching it (and watching movies like it) with my wife. That way, she knows it could be much worse. LOL
