Going to be in the Buffalo area for a week in September for work. Obviously I won't have a huge amount of outdoors time, but is there anything in the area that's a don't miss? I hear they have some nice waterfalls just north of town.

Check out Chestnut Ridge. Google the eternal flame. Burn up a couple hours there. Nice little hike. There's more trails down in there. The devils hole is a short hike but pretty cool. A lot of trails by Niagra gorge, haven't been up there much, to many kids and not enough me

Also check out Letchworth State Park (southeast of the city, although not that close). Three fantastic waterfalls!

I saw the Eternal Flame at Chestnut Ridge mentioned in one of my searches. I'll look up Letchworth.
Thanks, guys.

I hear they have some nice waterfalls just north of town. By the way, obviously you were referring to Niagara Falls, and equally obviously that is the can't miss destination.

Zoar valley is about 30 minutes south of buffalo. It's worth the trip. Be careful, seems like people die there every year. I take the kids there a lot, safe enough if your trail wise. Watch your head around the cliffs if you go( I cross the creek by them)
