Is anything else really needed? Needed? I think we are covered. It would be nice for some features like being able to tell which threads I've posted in while viewing the forum thread list. Something on the envelop indicating I posted in that thread.

One aspect of the new forum that I really love is how easily and efficiently I can get at what changed since my last visit. The notifications also seem to work flawlessly.

being able to tell which threads I've posted in There are two ways to track your posts: 1) the Participated button top-right under your Wecome name, listing the most recent threads, or 2) open your Profile, and under your avatar see the link to list all the threads you have created. FWIW: the Seach function is nothing short of amazing, given the faulty to failing versions for the last several years. You can really pinpoint a search and immediately get a list of postings that fit your terms. Yes, If you remember you commented in a thread about soup but don't remember where, search for soup: Bingo! You'll find it.

What happened to the Mountaineering forum? Too little use/interest to be continued on the improved board?

What happened to the Mountaineering forum? It was just stagnant, and was voted out. But that was then and the old forums were hardly a model of ease of use. Should there be a Mountaineering forum added? It's gonna cost you a dollar!

I just got another zombie alert from the Backpacker staging site. Something is underway.

BL, it sounds like either Backpacker or zombies are stalking you. Not sure which is worse, or how you can tell the difference between the two.

I'd be more worried about zombies. They have more impact and a higher success rate. By the way, the "official" Backpacker site is getting loaded up with spam since nobody is there to report it.

That you are getting ANYTHING from BP is interesting. I think the place is on autopilot. The phone call(s) I was told to expect weeks ago? <z-z-z-z-z- Nada.> Emails to the Mother Ship? Nuthin' I suppose I could go look at the old TPA but I figure it's doing no harm and I'm not getting paid to police a dead forum, so that slows me down.

The functionality issues with the old Forums remain for me and the Mag side of things are sketchy as well, too bad.

Emails to the Mother Ship? Nuthin' Klingons killed 'em. Then Darth Vader killed the Klingons. Then the zombies ate Darth Vader. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Other than, you know, photon torpedos and lightsabers in the hands of zombies. Now Elvis can rule the universe. Even zombies know better than to mess with The King.
