I just found this while trying to retrace our paddling from this last weekend and figuring out how many miles we did. Pretty cool for that sort of thing. onthegomap.com

Not sure I get it. I enter a walking starting and ending point and it puts a blue line between the two and shows milage. But I can't find the actual route the blue line follows. What am I missing?

I guess it does not recognize pathways (so will not adjust trip path to them) If you have time You can put it point by point exactly as you plan to go. Sometimes I use this android application for trip planing or preview, it will adjust to same roads/paths but its always better to put it point by point. Anyway I mostly use for only for navigation when I get lost a bit, not to waste time. I used it for few years as a free app (now supported them bought pro), I´m not sure how exact are map sources for US but for Europe its great various map options. www.locusmap.eu/maps/ (I hope its OK to post a link I feel like making advert but app is really enjoyable to use and free for most of functionality options, and its Czech made ;-) )
