Last year, our 15 year old grandson was diagnosed with Langerhan Cell Histiocytosis which, at the time, wasn't considered cancer, but was treated as cancer with chemo. This is a disease that has the white blood cells clumping together to form lumps which can cause death in the wrong place and is extremely rare. He had surgery to remove one from his hip, and one from between his breast bone and heart. He'd apparently had this for a long time as he was always short of breath and unable to play a full game of basketball without more rest than his teammates. Sometime this year, they have reclassified the disease as a cancer which makes sense.
Yesterday, our daughter-in-law came in beaming into my library where Carol and I were. The doctor report is that he has gone into remission and that his long-term prognosis is excellent. The grandfather had tears come into his eyes.
I don't know what else to say, but that I know some of you knew about this and have been praying and keeping Colt in your thoughts. He still has to finish the chemo to make sure they get all the stray cells, but we are so thankful to God and to our friends here and elsewhere who have helped us tremendously.
