Decided to do a last minute overnighter out at "Woodridge" (George Latham Trail, Clinton Lake, Kansas--USACE) this past weekend.
We arrived at the trailhead just before dark, leaving us just enough time to pull out our headlamps. The moon was out, albeit masked by a bit of haze, so for most of our 2.5 mile hike in, headlamps weren't needed/used.
I was surprised when we arrived at the site that I had "founded" (circa 2012) to find various "improvements" including a [G.I.] metal fire ring/grate had been placed there.
I slept like a rock in my DIY 1.9 oz/yd gathered end hammock. My ground-pounder friend was up before dawn--so he not so much.
Tried to get him to "elevate his perspective" in the past, but his inner-ear issue doesn't agree the gentle swaying of hammock-life.
(Maybe try a shockcord hammock guylines mod?)
Overnight low was a perfect 62° F.
Winds were 8-10 mph out of the south--with gusts up to 25 mph.
No ticks were found/harmed.
My total pack weight was <18 lbs. [2l of water/ ~ 1lb of food]
His total pack weight was <35 lbs. (He came home and almost immediately went on an ultra-light gear spending bender. Next trip he'll be sporting his new cuben fiber (dyneema) tarp-tent and NON-cotton clothing)
Here is a video from our trip:

1 Night? He carried about 35#s for a night out? Please tell me he's a Newbie.
I use the ULA Circuit as well. Really like it. Makes me think about each item i carry, as it is far less voluminous than my last pack. (100L McHale) Different point of my life meant a different pack was needed.
I never seem to be in a rush while out there, so my stove is a White Box alcohol stove. If it takes 4 minutes to get hot water, so be it.
I sleep in a WBBB. Have for about 5 years now. Really like the comfort.
Thanks for the video. Looks like Spring will be upon the land any time now.

He brought a bunch of new gear he wanted to field test--and as a precautionary measure against zombies/samsquantches.
He is still working on his definition of ultralight.
It was only about a 5 mile hike total--so there was no risk of him "falling out".
I'll post a video of his progress after our next trip in a couple of weeks.
I have an "appliance center" of various alcohol stoves in my gear crib. I use alcohol stoves on longer trips (5+ days). The jetboil is definitely bulkier, but <3 minutes from spark to coffee is a pretty nice luxury in the mornings.
