Evenin' y'all. Gonna keep this short. I've got to get up early for manual labor. Finally got some more of my kit together. Planning on doing a backpacking trip in a couple years. Got a Canadian friend that wants me to go train hopping with her. Still not sure about that. It's dangerous, highly illegal, and slow. Hurricane season is probably going to be pretty bad this year. Those of us in the South east better start preparing. How's everyone else doing?

Good morning.
Brrr. Last week it was about 85-90 degrees at 11 am every morning when I took the girl swimming. Yesterday it was 58* and the rest of this week it isn’t supposed to get above 62*
We are flying on the 4th and going the rather out of the way route of Medford to LA to Salt Lake. It makes me laugh because 2 years ago I couldn’t get a Medford to LA flight without going through Seattle first. Lol. But also, Really?
It’s not going to be the most fun trip ever, but I’m getting to see nephews and nieces and introduce Daisy to family she hasn’t seen since too young to remember.

rebeccad, your Scotland photo is so refreshing. I can feel the wind and water spray just from the image.

rebeccad , your Scotland photo is so refreshing. I can feel the wind and water spray just from the image. I was too high above the water to get the salt spray, but the wind was fierce! I’m not wearing my hat because I couldn’t.

Good (early) morning yall. it's currently almost 3 am and I haven't slept a wink. doing a course aeration for a golf course at the moment. Monday I started at 8 pm and worked until almost 5 am loading dirt with a short handled shovel. today I started at 4 and went to 10 with a "hoola hoe" and a couple other things. everything hurts, but I've been through worse. There were about 7 or 8 other white guys shoveling, and two Mexicans led by a Guatemalan. I took up with the Mexican crew. They worked hard and fast. Always had a respect for that. The other white guys basically were doing 15% of the work that we were, even though the Mexicans left and it was just me and the Guatemalan. They’d actually just quit working for about half of it and talk, sit around. That was yesterday. Today I just worked with one of the Mexicans who didn't speak a lick of English, but I think we got along just fine. Showed me a picture of his girlfriend, and we'd sit there and laugh at just about everything, from me falling down to us almost hitting a tree to...
Got a couple patches for my bag a long while back, hopefully going to put those on today. I need to show yall the "upgrade" I did to my pack... pretend like im slowly turning around in a spinny chair, petting a Persian cat, and giggling with that last sentence.

echo , belated happy birthday. rebeccad , imagine rising every morning and looking out at the Alps. It's certainly different from seeing another neighbor's house!

Good morning! Yesterday’s clouds are gone, and we may get hot today, but we should at least see what we are walking through. Sunrise from my balcony:

Good Morning, My husband taught music for thirty years, and a few of his students have been pretty successful. One of them won the Voice for Belgium and tours and has made a couple French movies. Another has opened for some larger acts and sang the Anthem for NFL games and will be the main act at the county fair, not ours but up in Oregon where he taught, tonight at 6pm. So I foolishly decided to surprise him by taking him to see it, but since he didn’t know, he made other plans to do a fish fry with a coworker who owns. Boat and has taken him out deep sea fishing a few times, so we’re going to try to fit both things in. October makes 40 years since we moved in together. You’d think we’d communicate better by now? The inland area has been up to 114* and had two fire starts last night on the I-5 corridor just below Oregon, but their heat keeps us cold and foggy. Just inland a bit the river is perfection.

Good morning,
I’m waiting, waiting on the granddaughter to wake up, waiting on a man delivering a cord of firewood, waiting on a call scheduling more medical tests. Impatient and almost willing to bet that all the things will happen at once. But while I wait, I’m sipping my coffee and planning an outing to the river tomorrow. The county fair will keep it busy in town and I’m guessing the local swimming holes will have a lot less people than normal.
