walkswithblackflies, beautiful photo. I love storms that sculpt and decorate the landscape in such a lovely fashion.

After talking with my Dr., this AM, I have, what's considered, a mild form of COVID19. I am in the intense body/muscle ache phase which should last from 1 to 5 days. The muscle/body aches should be my worse symptoms, stay inside, and stay in contact with my Dr. are the gist of my instructions. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Ia'm feeling a lot better then yesterday. Great to hear you are better @idahowalker . Now I'm worried about your better half. Please keep us updated. My son, who is only about a mile from your place, got tested yesterday. He's home sick from work and has similar symptoms. They told him it'd be 4 - 10 days before he got the results back. But they did place him in strict quarantine. Best wishes.

@idahowalker , I wasn't aware of the nasal bleeding. That's for sharing that. And, please, you and your wife both take good care of yourself.

Weird. For a couple days, a couple of weeks ago, I was feeling "off". Not really sick... just "off". Then, for 3 of the next 5 nights, I had horrible nose bleeds... like streaming out a nostril nose bleeds. A metallic taste in my mouth, too (I assumed it was from coagulated blood in my nasal cavity). I didn't think much of it because I never heard of nose bleeds being a symptom of COVID-19. I just assumed I had some allergies (the weather turned nice and trees were budding) and the nose bleeds were caused by the dry air at this time of year. Wishing you and your wife a speedy recovery.

Good morning,
@idahowalker when my Dad was having trouble staying hydrated he actually set a timer to remind him to drink some mint tea with honey in it. It soothed his throat and didn’t matter much if he couldn’t taste it very strongly. Hope you both recover with immunity.
So far our county has no cases and the one south of us went from 2 to 19 this week. But ours has Pelican Bay State Prison and as of last week they were still transporting buses of inmates in and out so when it hits there that number will probably skyrocket.
School for the kids here has been a variety of online things, like the granddaughter got to see the chicks hatching in her class and the teacher reading and leading a few art projects, plus the lunch program is sending food to the bus stops once a day and bringing weekly work packets for each grade. I’m throwing in a few things like shoe tying and bike riding and washing clothes and dishes and we are replanting our strawberries and starting some other seeds.

I hope @idahowalker is feeling better and your wife has stayed healthy!
We have made it to Santiago, and are now “camped out” with a half a dozen fellow passengers who have flights in anything from 10-20 hours from now. Ours is LATAM 602 to LAX, leaving at 11:55 p.m. (in theory). Boredom, once again, is the enemy!

Glad you are home rebeccad Glad you are defiant and getting better @idahowalker . I definitely want to use “defiantly on the mend” as a book title. We are still symptom free and still isolated except work. The kid got to watch her class chickens hatching, online and talk to the other kindergarten kids the same way. Our county is still without a positive test but several people being tested My oldest son turns 27 today but his family is in their own isolation four miles away.

My son and I made a box-step for our porch entrance... to replace the redneck-inspired patio blocks we had been using for the past 20 years. Problem is, the wood I used was warped (not obvious at the time) and my miter saw must need some recalibrating. The corners are just plain bad... but we MacGuyvered a solution.
I went for a 5-mile trail run, and felt great.

I’ve gotten in groceries, finished the laundry, and gone for a walk and a bike ride (carefully avoiding other citizens out doing the same). I’ve also begun trying to figure out what the heck I’m going to do with all the stuff in the guest room, as I need to clear it out to become a bedroom for Second Son. He’ll be living with us until fall, presumably.

@idahowalker. I’ve been thinking and googling nosebleeds from one nostril and not seeing that as a covid-19 symptom. I know when I have spikes in my blood pressure, that is one of my few symptoms. Have you still been monitoring yours?

I was obviously having sympathy nose bleeds for Ohm. :-) On Friday, Cuomo halted all construction projects. So today, most of our company was been laid off. I have another 2 weeks, at which point my position will be re-evaluated. I understand the knee-jerk broad-stroke responses by the governor, but there has to be some common sense added to the equation. I have a few projects that could I send one person out in the field, and then they could type a report from home. Another two where I could keep a single person in the field (collecting soil and groundwater samples) through the entire summer. And those projects would keep me 100% billable through the summer as well. Over 7 days ago my coffee grinder broke. I've not had any coffee since then. If your doctor knew this, he might not have concluded you had COVID-19. :-)
