Good morning everyone! It's my Friday and although I have nothing planned, this is the first time in almost 16 years that I have no connection to the big DC 4th of July concert. That is a glorious thing.

Morning y'all.
You know, if I don't stop all this posting, I'm going to lose my lurking creds.

It is such a good feeling to wake up to this place. Well, you know I kept saying good morning over there but it was often just shouting into the void to hear my own voice.
Good Morning,
Another cool, foggy day, predicted high 50 degrees less here than an hour inland and the traffic is starting to show a lot of people decided to come to the coast for the holiday. Both the guys here are doing summer school today, so it's me and the granddaughter playing for the morning. Then her Dad does his second job, three to eleven and following this little princess around is good for me, I've now list twenty pounds in two and a half months she's lived here and. I'm too busy to feel the old aches and pains until after I go to bed. For the night
Have a fun day, whatever you are doing. Glad to see you all around

Monday morning, I went kayaking with Roger and a couple of others in the area. No good pics. Wednesday, M, Roger, and I went kayaking. I will post pics as soon as I put them on a host site. ETA: Pics in Storytelling.

I always said I would never consider getting A/C being a PNW born native. After the ungodly spring and now god awful start to summer, I got bids for a full house system. I'm a bad girl I know. I just can't take the heat. It's been upper 90's to mid 90's now for weeks. June was the 4th driest on record. We had no winter. Even the moss has dried up. Boy....I am whiney.

Texas is now where Seattle used to be (daily rains; July 2 and the grass is still a beautiful emerald green & the creeks are all flowing), and you guys and the Southeast now have the "old" Texas weather (dome of high pressure and hot, hot, hot). You're welcome. :^)

It was frikking 97* today. 97*. That ain't normal. Take it back! Take it back! I even willingly went to a mall, just to be inside, cold.
My 4th of July is going to be spent at home, watering my completely dead lawn...to prevent it from burning up :(

Hot here in Idaho too, with triple digits this past week but will be 'down' to 95 today. Down on the river it will definitely be triple digits. Yikes. Hope it's cooler where you are.

Brownmouse and lonesomegeorge! Have a wonderful time!
My grass is brown and crunchy, but it is overcast and foggy most of each day here
We have amazing fireworks run amok at the beaches here. Totally illegal but uncontainable. That is my big, don't want to miss it for the summer every year. I know it is a bit dangerous but so much fun.
My other normal early July activity means avoiding the mid 4th crowds at the markets and art walks and booths in town, and heading to the nearly deserted redwood /River area for a picnic and swimming.
