Hi all -
My brother, wife and I are planning a trip to Yosemite this May and I wanted to get some advice from you all.
The idea is to stay in the park for three days, and ideally at two or three different sites so we can cover the most ground and not have to double back too much.
My brother and I are reasonably experienced hikers/campers, my brother moreso, but we're not from CA so we don't know Yosemite all that well (we've been there multiple times, just not for multi-day hikes). This will be my wife's first camping/hiking trip, but she's in good shape and capable - just not experienced. So we want to ease her into it and show her a fun time.
The hike from Yosemite Falls Campground to the valley is one of my favorites, but the site is closed in May, so that's out.
What great hikes are available in early May? Being able to do a loop would be better than straight up and back hikes if possible.
Anyway, looking forward to your input and advice. Thanks!!
(Edit: Thought Yosemite Falls site was open in May, turns out it's closed until July.)
