I have a pair of Vasque Sundowners that I've been using for years and which are the most comfortable boot I've ever used--my feet never seem to get very tired in them.
This summer I am going on a trip to Europe, and I am looking for a low top hiking shoe that feels as close to the Sundowner as possible (rigid, supportive), but without the high top, as this is going to be a trip with a lot of walking in cities. Breathability would be a nice bonus. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I was going to post a glib "nothing is a comfortable as Sundowners" response, But a quick check revealed that Vasque makes several low-top hikers and trail runners. That might be a good place to start. www.vasque.com/USD/hiking-footwear

Yeah, I called them, and got a "nothing feels like Sundowners" response; the rep said the closest shoes would be the Breeze III GTX. I'll give them a try.
Are there any other brands out there I should try?

I have had very good fit with Salewa's approach shoe. Lost the footbeds and replaced with Superfeet carbon fiber low volume.
