Hello everyone! I am a footwear designer looking to start an outdoor footwear brand. I have created a questionnaire targeted towards the outdoor consumer and would really appreciate your feedback! It's on the longer side but feel free to be as brief or longwinded as you want! Link to survey: goo.gl/forms/3hFEtJajkkCMFNdV2Thanks in advance!

I started your survey for grins. It seems like you may be out of your element. Pretty much everything is desired in footwear that can protect my foot from elements. I am often on the quest for ultimate footwear but more often than not, there is nothing that checks every box. Comfort seems like a nearly impossible goal and is only struck on like lightning after trying on dozens of footwear. If that boot/shoe happens to have less seams, has a leather outer, and a few other features...I'll see if it belongs in my wheel (or shoe) house.
You start your survey by asking about boots...assuming that backpackers wear boots. These days, I run into more folk wearing shoes than boots. I think you need to do more research before you get in the game.

Maybe you should do a little more research into what's already on the market. Go hiking yourself.

Got to admit, always entertaining this, the recent spate of "design students" asking us, (the pros from Dover?), opinions on some novel piece of gear/ idea without doing any real homework beforehand. Maybe go hiking first, use the gear item in question at least once? Keep 'em coming!
