Don't forget your forum password!
Whew! It's like Fort Knox to get back in. And the Captcha "prove you are human" thingy only works sometimes, and not with all devices.
Rant over.
Hi, Guys! Happy New Year. Countdown till Spring

I only have about three different passwords I use. Not the best choice, security-wise. I *did* have a similar set-up. And then I had to change a LOT of passwords thanks to the yahoo security breach... I have one which I use just for forums. That seems reasonable, as long as your profile doesn't contain any info you should be keeping secure.

My list of passwords and usernames is 3 pages long. Mine is similar. I use really simple passwords for sites like this, where I do not care if someone hacks in under my name. Sites I care about (financial, medical, etc) have a 18-20 character password that looks like cartoon swearing, and different for each site. My list itself is a password protected file, in a password protected folder. If I forget those two I am really screwed.

That seems reasonable, as long as your profile doesn't contain any info you should be keeping secure. The reality is hackers are not much interested in hacking into forums. Email and financial institutions are a different matter. But they also aren't much interested in small potatoes like me either. There isn't much interesting that they can use from here. Email is a bit more information, but financial and medical institutions carry tremendous amounts of information, those are the ones you need to guard closely. Even then, they are going after the institutions themselves rather than hacking individuals. If one works at a medical or financial institution, then hacking that person might bring results. Individuals are at greatest risk from factors which are beyond their control. I am not saying individual hacks never lead to identity theft and such, but it is relatively rare. Rumi
