A lot of the northern half of the country is now covered with snow that may just be about as much as we will see this winter. And it is actively snowing today over much of The West. During snow storms many snow country webcams become rather useless, often with snow caking lenses that the camera owners don't bother to or cannot clear off. And then there are many web cams that during storms are rather boring because the visibility prevents views out towards whatever landscape they are pointed at except for near objects. The following have clear views and interesting near objects.
Blizzard view via Boreal Mountain Resort ski area web cam that is at Donner Summit on Interstate 80 elevation 7400 feet. This is an interactive webcam that by selecting the CONTROL field at image bottom one can gain control over its positioning and zooming (at image sides, top and bottom) as long as someone else is not actively doing so.

Pretty snowy scenes from 3 webcams at South Lake Tahoe at the Heavenly Ski Resort village gondola base and highway US50 elevation 6400 feet. Switch between the 3 links.

If you can find some other web cams today with clear views of interesting scenes while it is actively snowing please entertain us.

Indeed not working. Went directly to the Heavenly Village page and their links also dead. Probably issues due to the huge snowstorm.
Thanks David

This is one of the places we love to go play in the snow in winter, or for a day hike in summer, just off I-5 above Ashland, OR www.mtashland.com/webcam/

Echo that is such a beautiful image of rimed trees at Ashland (above), love it!
Like the snowy wonderland Crested Butte town images too, thanks msd!
This well positioned webcam from Sentinel Dome in Yosemite is pointed at Half Dome. Believe it is one of many so called webcams that are not actual live streams but rather take an image every few minutes or refresh the page with <F5>. As clouds move in Half Dome goes in and out of visibility but the foreground trees and icicle are nice.

Most Sierra Nevada webcams are not working today including many at ski resorts because of the big storm. Some are not even powered up while others have snow and icicles over lenses. But then found the below.
The below is a nice view at the top of Dodge Ridge Ski Resort east of Sonora where they have picked up 4 feet of snow the last few days. If one waits a bit skiers and snowboarders will show getting off the lift. Obviously not many people up there today while storm is still active because one really needs to dress carefully, warmly, goggled up, full expedition weight balaclava under storm hood parka, protecting any exposed skin except the nose in order to breathe. The wind and blowing snow show well with temperature probably 20F. I've occasionally storm powder skied ln conditions like this for decades and it is a dreamy experience of flowing through softness. And in this era some of the time would be listening to some classic rock.

Will see what Friday offers as have a day off then going into the MLK weekend since storm is supposed to pick up a bit and then clear out by Friday morning.

We finally got some sun today. Sadly Dave a whole lot of your Sierra Snotel sites have been kaput for some time. Great to see those buried chairlifts though, may those resevoirs fill when it warms up more, or are they full from rain already? They finally trucked out a bunch of snow from the downtown area over the last couple of earliest mornings when street parking is banned. Sometimes I call and talk to friends in Colorado and elsewhere when I'm walking to the Silver Dollar and they get to see a visual gesture from me passing the Square. www.seejh.com/live
