We don't get much snow here, and I'm not a huge fan of it, or cold in general, but as someone who loves hiking in high humidity and sudden downpours, I can appreciate your love of it. It's not something for everyone, but I understand.

Thanks! My wife and I hike in snow often, myself especially, as we have more time available in the winter. Snow and winter up the ante for backpacking, and provides fairly empty trails that are sometimes crowded in warmer weather. We use to use a pulk sled, but have downsized sufficiently to get by with just packs. I love walking in gently falling snow, whiteouts are another matter and kick-in the survival mode. We have lots of that ice coating right now.

Some of my favorite memories are b/c skiing solo in the sierra during blizzards. Setting up and taking down camp was another matter.
