www.kulr8.com/story/34094147/snowplow-drivers-get-stuck-in-65-below-zero-temperaturesBack in 1996 my Dad was in the Park county Hospital in the hospice room, and we had come home to stay with him. Christmas Day we got 16 inches of snow and 14 more on Boxing Day. This year they are getting that kind of weather again. It's fun, until it isn't. This time there were some tragedies averted. Interesting read to me, but it's my home town. Hope other people find the story interesting too

Very unsettling. I feel so badly for the people who were caught in that situation. I can't even imagine the fortitude it took to survive in that kind of frigid cold. They're inspirational, and by now I hope they're warm!
Thanks for sharing. I'm even more tempted to just hunker down and avoid going out any more than necessary, and it only gets to about 10 below here.

So does the temperature gauge on the truck calculate windchill or was it just wrong?
Anyone that doesn't have multiple sleeping bags and other supplies this time of year is at times really playing with life and death.
Thanks Echo. Togwotee Pass and the Dunoir got hammered with snow too. JHMR best snow in December in 40 years. I think they'll hit a 20' season total if this weekend's forecast is accurate. I delivered to a couple of sites up higher in the village today. They have the deeepest Christmas in a long time.

Minus 65 F sounds too close to zero kelvin for my tastes.

I saw that video the other day, I can't imagine being stuck in those conditions. I was flying over that area on Saturday night and my plane was quite wobbly. In August I drove the Chief Joseph Highway and I'm surprised they even try to keep it open in the winter. According to the NWS there was also a 109mph wind gust recorded on Sunday just a few miles away in Clark.
