Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I remember how exciting it was to get a train for Christmas. There's a special kind of excitement to having a miniature electric train in the house; there's just something about it that not only expands one's horizons but almost creates a sense of magic.
I especially like your second photo.

My wife and kids got me a train set for Christmas a couple of years ago. It was one of those things I had always wanted as a kid, but never got. I actually teared up when I opened it.
I can definitely see myself building up a little train village one of these days when I have a little more spare time.
