A Question for Ye Computer Geeks

I run it without a Microsoft Account (although I do have one). I prefer a local account. Ads? No ads. I'm not looking back. I'm satisfied with it.

I have done nearly 50 installs of it so far. The issues I have run into - one old brother printer that doesn't support scanning under Windows 10, One refused to upgrade until I expanded the recovery partition as it didn't have enough space which required using an external utility to do so. Quickbooks license information needs to be deleted after upgrade (one file in the Program Data\Intuit\etc...). Mapping to a NAS drive didn't function after reboot and had to be re-linked.

No other issues to speak of but finding some of the features (Show hidden files, etc) have been moved and took me a little while to figure out. Have I found it to be awe-inspiring? No, but a few subtle tweaks and enhancements I have appreciated but nothing so memorable that I have bragged about.

Do not install until MS fixes the privacy issues. If they ever will.

It took forever, but it's up and running, and this is posted from the "new" Win10 desktop. It is quite a bit different in appearance than my Win 7, but so far, nothing that I won't be able to figure out with a bit of poking and prodding.

I was a bit unnerved when FF wouldn't display my home page correctly, but that settled down when I shutdown/restarted FF.

The only reason I upgraded, besides the fact it's "free", was all of the glowing reports from my astrophotography forums. They're tech geeks to the max and all of them have said there's been no issues using the "plethora" of open source software, legacy software devices, etc., so far, that it takes to drive our telescopes and cameras.

I do not find it significantly advantageous over Windows 10. If it weren't for the fact that I have to stay ahead of the curve, I would not upgrade from Windows 7 myself. There are few subtle tweaks and security enhancements that make Windows 10 more secure and the auto-update feature that some find to be "offensive", I find to be a great enhancement.

I don't like it because it's so busy. Mind you, I have barely begun to tweak it to make it look/feel the way I want.
