We have always said no to ad links, but this is a test. We are now allowing active members with dreams of earning from sales of an outdoor product to nudge into the market by introducing their book, app, hat, or other item that relates to our outdoor interests. This is a favor to the readers in general. It is meant to let a vendor announce and describe their product, answer questions, and actually guide people to a website or blog. This is not a place for selling franchise items or mass-production items that you simply buy to resell, nor is it a place for someone to just drop in and post a link. If you post, you should be a participant in these forums, and you should be involved with having created or designed the product and have a major part in the development. Your ad will be open to others to ask questions, and even critique. All comments, good or bad, will remain available.
Title your first post with the item name mentioned. Then add a good message with a description of its purpose. You may include a smallish image (think 300x300px.) If you are trying to develop an idea via Kickstarter, we can let you try since pledges do not take money from anyone until your goal is met. This page is a free service. No charge to sellers, no fees to buyers. You handle your business! We are not here to mediate.
If any ads go overboard or just don't fit the idea (outdoor related), they will be removed.
••• If you have questions, ask them here, not in a new thread. Thanks.

Hi there, Steve? I am a new member and to be upfront I'm looking to outdoor forums to get feedback on a pair of outdoor pants I designed. It is with Betabrand and there is nothing to buy or sell, I'm looking for votes and feedback on the design. The more votes I get the more likely it'll go to the next step of crowdfunding. Let me know if it' is OK to post the link here. Cheers, Jonathon

I'm looking to outdoor forums to get feedback on a pair of outdoor pants I designed. IF there is no marketing involved, you are welcome to share what you think are good features in hiking pants. But I can tell you that we will not allow a link to a crowdfunding page, and you are going to be subject to serious scrutiny. People here are a bit tired of being taken for a marketing focus group. I'd suggest you root around and read some of the posts on clothing in the Gear and Women's sections (I don't know if you are looking at design for women, or if you are just thinking about men and the outdoors, but you will find comments on clothing for women regarding fit and function to be a bit on the bitter side). Think about what you see, participate in some conversations, and then you can consider sharing your ideas and asking your questions. This probably sounds a bit unwelcoming. I'm sorry about that, but as noted, we are a group of hikers, not a focus group for marketers, and we deal with far too much of this. When someone comes who seems knowledgeable and considerate and asks for thoughts, we are generally courteous. When someone looks like using us, not so much.
