I put it off as long as I dared. But as you can see, it was time to replace my old tips.

This is something I have to do once a year on my single hiking pole (as I only use one pole while hiking). I get Leki tips and put them on my Black Diamond poles after hack sawing off an inch of the pole at the bottom. This can be done before the old titanium tip falls off as a sort of preventative maintenance as it's not fun to lose a tip on Day 2 of a 21 day trip.

Somehow, I was expecting tips & tricks... I've been lucky so far and haven't had to replace any, yet. But I remember a hiking buddy wanting to trash his poles when he lost a "tip". Those are replaceable! '
