I have three different flasks of various sizes. - 800ml collapsible Platy wine flask, though I rarely carry wine with me. I use it on extended trips. it weighs 23g. - Nalgene flask which holds 300ml and weighs 53g without the blue cup and shot cap. - GSI Flask 275ml and weighs 29g. Ironically I like the Nalgene the best because it seems to not hold the odor of the previous contents and is much easier to clean. All do well at carrying whatever I want. Mostly I take whisky, generally Bushmills. But I also like to take Irish cream. Rumi

We sometimes bring a Platy full of Baileys - It's good hot (in morning coffee) or cold(dessert on a hot day). The rich creaminess seems to hit the spot on those long trips.
Runner up is a flask of good whiskey for an evening hot cider toddy.
Great, now I want a cocktail.

Nalgenes are great flasks. 32 oz holds a bottle of wine. Then they make great protein shake shakers, and then they make good hot water bottles.... And Trailgaritas...those mixed in a nalgene are the best.

I always carry a small "flask" aka the liteweight bottle they come in, of gin, to be mixed with either grapefruit or lemon/lime flavored Crystal Light. Usually consumed at/above timberline sitting next to some stunted juniper bushes while watching the sun set over the peaks. Heaven does exist right here on Earth. "Dinner" on the stove and cocktails ready to share.

If I am just doing an overnight I will not think twice about lugging a six pack of 12oz cans of beer. These days my go to is the Washington Trails Association Tangerine Pale Ale brewed by Bellevue Brewing Co.

Sometimes I carry a flask filled with wine or whiskey (rarely).

I use a nalgene flask, too. It's extremely lightweight and the cap measures out a shot. There's also a hard sleeve it comes with, or you can ditch that for lessen your weight. Just can't live without good wine
