I share your pain. I've lost a few things over the years, just flat out unable to account for their disappearance. It's a frustration! That happened to my favorite visor. I wore it on a walk one morning and am sure I got back to the house with it, but it was never seen again. Frustrating indeed. The crazy part is, I remember taking it out of the Jeep (I remember where we went that day, even and that I had used it). I think I didn't even make it up stairs with it and started breaking down boxes in the basement. I just hope that it didn't get in between card board boxes and taken out to the trash. That seems to be my only explanation.

The two things I lose most on the trail are bandannas and those small key chain thermometers. I still bring a bandanna but not the thermometers.
When I find things I've lost around the house they are exactly in the place I last left it. Living alone, I can only blame myself.

I've lost several spoons in the backcountry. I blame pixies.

Well, I haven't found it. I"ll keep my eyes open.
Looking for one thing one usually finds something else.

Hey! I forgot to let ya'll know (I posted it on Facebook)! I FOUND IT!!!!
I blame my husband. It was shoved in a deep, dark corner of a closet, under one of his computer monitors. I was beyond happy!!

Good work! I get attached to certain objects, a favorite jacket or a scarf, even hiking boots. They remind me of the trips I have taken, and the people I was with.
