Quite possibly the most ground-breaking song from the most ground-breaking Beatles' album:
I can still remember the first time I heard this song as a freshman in high school. Up until then, I only knew of the Beatles' pop hits. This opened up a whole other universe.

Quite possibly the most ground-breaking song from the most ground-breaking Beatles' album: I'm not sure when I first heard that, but I know that it first left an imprint due to the underground classic 801 Live, with Phil Manzanera and Brian Eno. Checking youtube, Los Lobos did a version, and had/have a lot of respect for the Beatles. Not exactly the type of band I'd expect to cover that sort of song, but whaddaiknow?
The Beatles just influenced the whole world, ya know? You, you couldn't go anywhere, even in East LA ya know there was, there was a lotta bands that, that were doin' Beatles songs, ya know? They, they definitely, were just very special in the way they recorded, their, their equipment, even though it was, it was maybe not as advanced as it is now.

"Teton County" from JAckson's own One Ton Pig. You posted one from them a while back. Good stuff. Yet another reason to return to The Hole.

I would have never guess that in a million years. But it certainly didn't disappoint.

I would have never guess that in a million years. But it certainly didn't disappoint. Ditto. I found an even more unexpected version I'd never heard of, by Junior Parker. Very different, especially for a blues/soul musician.

If this posted more than few pages back my apologies but: I don't know how to embed but here is Robbie Robertson, Ringo Starr, and musicians from around the world performing "The Weight." Being apart can bring us together in truly beautiful ways. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph1GU1qQ1zQ

Being apart can bring us together in truly beautiful ways. Playing For Change is great. They were in my area a few years ago, but I couldn't make it for some reason. This might have been the first song I heard by them.

Big George Brock died recently. He picked cotton when he was young, and as a boxer once knocked Sonny Liston to the mat. He fathered 42 children to the best of his knowledge. He was always gentlemanly and stylishly dressed, but in later years arthritis really slowed him down, causing him a lot of pain. He could barely stand, much less walk. His wife helped him a lot.
Roger Stolle did a lot for George in his later years, and is also a really good guy.
I've been in that area many times (some would ask, "Why?"), and met George several times. This looks like it's in front of Cat Head in Clarksdale MS.

Am I the only one who has great disdain for all music formatted with MP3? It's not that good, but it's easy and convenient. Outside of that, I'm not worried about it - my ears aren't really all that good in the first place. :^D desert dweller posted this back in '16, so I won't do it again. A song for the times. We've Been Through Some Crappy Times Before - Austin Lounge Lizards But here's something else from the same album.
