Fill count = volume in cubic inches of 1 ounce of down
For example, 1 ounce of 700 fill-count down will fill 700 cubic inches.

Thanks for finding and sharing! I'm not sure that I knew it was the spring back that made for the higher quality.

I've never heard the springback thing. From what I've read, they measure out a specific weight (1 oz) of down into a graduated cylinder and lay a circular plate of known weight on top of it so it compresses down a bit. The volume taken up by the ounce of down with the plate on top is the fill power. All this is done at specified conditions, dry down, etc.
