Since many of us enjoy hiking and backpacking as the leaves begin to change color, I thought it be useful to share some of the best foliage web-based tracking and reporting tools in one thread. Here are the resources that I use: 1) The Foliage Network provides current reports and a map for foliage conditions in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. This is a wonderful resource. 2) Yankee Foliage has provides a current map with links to pictures and a forecast map for Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. 3) Vermont and Maine have active foliage reports, while New Hampshire has a forecasting tool. Hopefully these resources are helpful as you plan trips in the Northeast this fall. Get outside and enjoy the sights!

Here in Central NY, the leaves are just starting to change. Barely any drop. I was sitting in my tree stand the other day, and all of a sudden it was like someone turned off the lights when the sun set below the canopy. Not used to that.

Here in Central NY, the leaves are just starting to change. Barely any drop. I'm seeing the same thing here in Northwestern Vermont. It seems like the leave are a bit late this year and just starting to change colors. I'm hoping to find some better colors a bit further east.
