Hi Pennsylvania! I just moved here (Smock) from Columbus, Ohio last month. I live in a beautiful heavily wooded area. I used to backpack and do a lot of volunteer work in the back country. Being here has reignited my former self! I've been exploring on old 4 wheeler, gas line and deer trails. I need some advice. Where can I find some great aerial topo maps with possibly a utility line layer? I'm at a loss. Also, are there any scenic day hikes within a 25 mile radius of where I live, zip code 15480.

Any time I want to look around a new area, I use Acme Mapper. No, it isn't a link to Wil E Coyote.

Hey T, congrats on getting the shortest name in the forum! I wonder if you have yet discovered the section about Mid-Atlantic states? That would be a place to ask where "locals" would be able to help. There is also a thread in the Destinations area with other links to map sources. Might be something there to interest you. Glad you found the forum. Tell us more about your interests.

Welcome aboard t...or do you prefer t. Glad you could join us. Any questions you have, feel free to ask and we'll point you in a direction. I'm not saying it's the right direction...but at least you'll get the point.

Try Ohiopyle state park. Looks to be less than an hour from you. Quebec Run is also a nice area.

Ohiopyle is an AWESOME place! Love the Yuck or the Yoh, however you say it.
Ricketts Glenn also blew my mind, amazing waterfalls. PA is often described as Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in between. I say there are lots of fine people everywhere, so enjoy deciduous paradis for those of us without it. Keep your stick on the ice.

And that's why I love Alabama so much. I lived in the inbetween of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. The states are very similar in that way. Welcome to the forum, t!
