I will be arriving sometime Thursday afternoon, from California, by car. I will have plenty of gear with me, so will probably just stealth it along the way. Coming in on 70, so will just head on up to PG. I will be in the campground as soon as they let me, with the kitchen tent. No big deal if I have to set it up alone, as I have done that many times. More importantly, this year I will have weights to hold it down, or really good stakes.

out to the Sierra, and see if I can find a grey-haired ponytailed guy who goes by the moniker of markskor , near Tuolumne Meadows. The roads should still be open, and I hear he has the double extra special lowdown on hiking/camping/fishing in the area... Reuben, If you do make it out this-a-way to TM, employee guests (who behave?) always welcome to stay over for a while, back in the prestigious employee tent area, close to the Twilight Lounge...all part of Tuolumne's famous Club Med vacation package. (Hot showers, free laundry, and flush toilets. What more do you need?) Bring your backpack, Marlboro's, and your fishin' gear. We'll do some camping/ have a few martinis/ show you what gives locally... days off from Tuolumne store. mark

Okay, Jazzmom and Big_Load, not to mention maybe Reuben? I'm thinking I need to go again. Hmm. I may grab a ride out with Zeke.

Vince, A heads-up, the current reservation we have is for Friday - Sunday, so if you arrive Thursday we won't yet have the campsite reserved. Options: (1) Go to ReserveAmerica.com and book the Campsite #5 for Thursday night, then our other reservation starts Friday, (2) arrive Friday instead, or (3) stay at a nearby campsite (Golden Gate State Park, or there is a small FS camping area about 2 miles north on the main road, I can look it up) Thursday and roll into PG on Friday. Doesn't matter to me! I'll be there Friday. See y'all then! - Mike

Yeah, I was planning on spending the night elsewhere, as I was aware of the reservation. Thanks for the other info, though.

I hope we can make it again but I won't know until we get closer. Jen blew her meniscus out a couple of months ago and just had her second knee surgery trying to repair it and I don't think she'll be hike worthy this year. Camp ready for sure though!

If anyone is driving to PG from Oregon or Washington and can offer me a ride, let me know.

Oh noes! I hope she has a speedy recovery and you guys can at least come and camp with us. We SO WANT TO! It's got her down considering all the time and effort she had put into getting herself in shape to hike. She's been depressed about the whole deal and it's really got her down. I think some campfire time with y'all would do us both some good.

I'm planning on it as a solo. Sue (wife) has other plans unfortunately!! Where do I RSVP? I suspect I too might be dragging in on Thursday. I'll know more late July. FYI: Pickle Gulch I'm guessing it is THAT one. ^^ 14'rs? Grays? Torres? If needed, I could rent a high clearance vehicle to get us closer.
