Hi everyone, I notice with alarm that Teva have changed the design of my favourite snowshoeing footwear and its not good news. I need a new pair of the Teva Chair 5s having ripped a gash in my existing pair last season, problem is that they have dropped the Velcro closure at the top of the boot and the new design relies on laces only. I usually camp out when using snowshoes and laces quickly become useless lumps of mangled ice, i had got used to leaving the laces loose while they were still malleable and relying on the Velcro closure alone which was good enough . I have seen some snowboard boot laces for sale called Mr Lacies Snowies which claim to be treated with anti freeze, has any one had any experience of these do they work for longer than a few days? Anyone developed any alternative methods of lacing a boot which doesn't suffer from ice manglement? cheers all

Try using gaiters. They keep the snow out of your boots too.

Yep. Another vote for gaiters. I've never had lace issues but I've always used gaiters and I travel in deep off-trail powder.

Same here. I had to stop and think why my laces don't ice up. Gaiters.

Hit the little gear symbol in the corner and select "edit". You should have the option to delete.

Why would you delete it? Seems like a reasonable post/thread.
