It must gain weight when it arrives. I saw that. But the shipping weight is 16 pounds.

The tent, most likely, needs to be fed once it arrives. I wonder what that monster eats, an arm, a leg?

The two-inch foam mattress and flannel cover should be very comfortable and allow you to sleep like a king. Which you will need to do, btw, after hauling that ridiculous tent!

'Tunnel' design good but 17.5lbs for a one man tent!!! Strewth! I note in the youtube promo vid's an 'optional extra' is apparently a pickup truck to haul it to location. Sturdy but not aimed at the backpacking community...

That piece of junk doesn't even have a USB port. Check out the future of glamping - the Orange solar tent. No word on the weight, but it doesn't look like it'll fold up and fit in your pack. "A Kickstarter campaign fell short of proper funding and the developers are slowly producing these and looking to expand production this year."

That type of shelter is fairly popular here in Australia with 4WD owners , hunters and fisherman. Most outdoor gear shops sell them . (Google Images : Australian swag tent)

I wonder how much it would weigh for a version you could actually sit up in.

Huh? Are you OK? What happened to the King of Cheap? Sometimes I worry about you, man.

Hey, when I can afford porters I'll buy better tents. I hear ya. I can't afford porters, either, so I'm still drinking ales, with the occasional lager. On a more serious note, I hope the new job and new digs work out well for you.
