(edit) About the osprey guarantee... Appears no one has used it... Fixed a pack on my own (again)... Further input not required(edit)
Have had several of their packs over the years, one I shredded-out to worthlessness, another that I have done enough field/layover/post-trip repairs to nickname it Frankenstein, and a couple more beyond. Because their packs have always seemed to fit me well, at the beginning of April I purchased one of their a child-carriers, which the kiddo seems to have fallen in love with and still wants her morning nap ride in. But at 2 miles to get her asleep and 4 more of walking during nap I recently broached a thousand miles (200 trail) with it and it really needs some work.
Has anyone used the guarantee? And, if so how long how long has it taken to get your pack back?

I'd be more than a little surprised if the guarantee covered simple wear and tear from use. Usually they're about "defects" and not being immortal really doesn't fit that category.
But for something regarding policy the only source worth trusting is the manufacturer as its their opinion that contrsols. So give them a call.
Unless you bought it from REI, then contact them.

Thanks for the responses gabby and High Sierra Fan . I didn't expect immortality, hence why I noted the fact that I am perfectly happy after destroying one and heavily patching wear and tear on another (edit: both form pre-2009, when I think the guarantee kicked in). But the metal rod that keeps working loose below her seat and at her thigh level has become a chronic safety issue (sharp edge) as well as a pain in the ass to keep shoving in. As the support page said allow for plenty of time I was hoping someone had gone through this. I'll give them a contact for an RMA number and see what they say in up to a week.

Oh, well such a structural failure certainly should be covered. Milage doesn't matter for something on your back after all.
But that should work out when you call to explore a return/replacement.
ETA: so for Osprey it IS immortality. Good for them.

I've had two Osprey hydration bladders fail and they replaced them without issue. They truly stand behind their products (unlike Gregory).

Thanks. Actually changed my mind and ended up doing repair myself. It really was easy. More annoying than anything. Don't trust myself to re end that kickstand though, so may still send it when she's older.

I don't know how much they would honor any guarantee if you "modified" it. It'd really depend on the amount but it sounds like your Frankenstein is not the same look anymore
