Hey, I have an exped sleeping pad (a Synmat 7.0 I think) that got a L shaped slash in it last time I was out. I patched it (unsuccessfully) with duct tape at the time and am trying to remove the duct tape and use my actual patch kit before I head off to do the Wonderland trail in two weeks. However, I can't peel the tape off. Or I can peel the outside but the bottom sticky layer is not coming off. Has anyone encountered this problem? Have any suggestions for something I could to loosen the ducttape that won't harm the pad? Thanks!

Maybe call Exped and see what they have to say.

Common things to remove the glue would be denatured alcohol, which most backpackers probably have in their home already (or at least they would if they used an alcohol stove ) and Goof Off. In my experience, but not with Synmat, neither of these products will harm a sleeping pad. For your own peace of mind, try them out in a small spot.
Welcome to the boards! Sorry about your pad. Stop by often, and introduce yourself on the main page, Trailhead Register.

What Olzeke said - Dnatured alcohol will work fine. I recommend using something like a small bead of McNett's Seamgrip or Goop along the tear, Tenacious tape or raft repair tape over that (with rounded corners) and then a small bead of seamgrip to seal the Tenacious tape edge.

I agree with above, you can also consider a little rubber cement if you have it (come to think of it shoe goo might work also) in conjuction with the raft tape. Raft tape on over the tear and a small amount of rubber cement along the edges of the the raft tape.
Hope you can fix it up.
