Taking a Trangia burner on a day hike tomorrow. Got it used and it's the first time I've used it. Should I fill it with alcohol or half way? Look harder for fill line? Over thinking?
Got a new o-ring for it that fits well, so I'm not too concerned about it leaking.

Myself, no clue. Never used one. Just be careful where you set it up; the alky flame is virtually invisible in daylight.
Probably be a good idea to try it at home first.

I use one regularly. Fill about 3/4 full for about 2 qts of water. Great little stove. I use it with a ClikStand stove.

I think the Trangia burner works best when slightly underfilled. The fuel heats faster and burns hotter that way. It always helps to fill it, screw the lid on, then put it in your pocket for a couple of minutes to preheat the fuel. Also, be generous when priming, the burner actually has a built in primer bowl encircling the fuel reservoir for this purpose.
