That was a good story, thanks for posting it. There is a lot of suitable habitat for grizzlies that is fragmented enough to slow the influx of fresh genes to the gene pool in some of these parcels. A stable wilderness ecosystem needs to be large enough, and well enough connected to other wilderness. Getting the data on two, soon to be three generations is pretty solid proof of the concept. So much of the news about endangered species is tragedy, it is good to know conservation biology wins some battles too.
