Anyone know Mammoth Lakes?
We're acclimating to altitude for a few days at the Mammoth mountain Inn (9,000+) before heading out of Red's Meadow.
UPDATE:
A seemingly knowledgable and helpful individual at the Mammoth Mountain "reservations" phone line said it's not problem to do free long-term parking on the STREET (Highway 203) leading up to the Mammoth Mountain Inn -- because (supposedly) it's a trailhead, and beyond that point you have to take a tram to go to the trailheads.
Just have to make sure nothing in those car that the bears want...
