Is there a way to see a larger version of an avatar being used by another poster? Sometimes, I want to see something in the background, or if it is a picture of them, I may want to see more detail.

For me, I click or hold my finger on the little image and it gives me the option to view, copy, save, etc. I go to view. It still comes up small, but I can enlarge easily on my phone.

That isn't working for me, on a Mac using Safari. Not when using Firefox either.

You can right click on the image, click "copy image", then paste it into a word processing document. Then click on the image and drag one of the little squares on the right angle corners to enlarge the photo. It's not a perfectly clear enlargement, but you can see more of the avatar. I just did this with Firefox with no problem.
How are you trying to copy an avatar?

I am not wanting to copy it, just see more detail. Some of these pictures posters use are good, and I want to see more of them.
I don't have a right click, or a left one. One large click face mouse. Mac wireless.

I don't have a right click, No sweat, zeke! Try this: press the CONTROL key on your Mac and click and hold on the avatar. The contextual menu pops up and one choice is to open the image in a new window. There it is, in a new window, so now zoom the window* and the small avatar gets bigger. NOTE that all avatars are a fixed small size (software handles that) and there is no way to improve either quality or dimensions. * TIP" I use a track pad (way better than a mouse, IMHO!) and using SysPrefs, you can set a trackpad to zoom with two-finger push. You can also set things for pinch-zoom, and with a mouse, there will be a setting for using the mouse top button or a push, depending on which mouse you have. In short, there are several ways, depending on the tool. Good luck. Maybe people could/should post bigger images in a new thread in Photo area?

Just changed it again...I think this one should be better. Had to get the light bulb to click on in my brain, since I STILL don't know how to resize photos!

I STILL don't know how to resize photos! Here's a tip: Try the website webresizer.com for an easy web service to handle this job, letting you upload a photo, CROP it as you want, then save a renamed JPG file to your desktop. Upload hikePhoto.jpg, download a file named hikePhoto-fix.jpg. It's been awhile since I've used it so I forget the actually new extension, but you will recognize it. Save the cropped image to 150x150 and there's your new forum avatar.
