Hello everyone!
I am wondering if this sleeping bag: Big Agnes Encampment is appropriate for a long distance backpacking on PCT, starting on the border and ends in Canada. Or should I get a better one for PCT?

I'd get the lightest thing I could afford, maybe 2 of them. One for weather expected to be 20*, and one for weather expected to be no lower than 40.

Do you sleep warm or cold? Plan to wear extra warm clothing on cold nights, such as a puffy jacket? The 15 degree rating might be right for some people, others might choose something rated in the 20-30 degree range. It doesn't appear to be EN rated, so the rating could be inaccurate (I don't know because I've never tried this bag).
The 3lbs 7oz weight of the regular size given on the Big Agnes website would be a showstopper for me. My 20 degree Enlightened Equipment Enigma 800 quilt in regular length, wide width weighs 18.75 oz. For comparison, the BA Encampment is 55oz, more than 2 lbs heavier!
Also, some through hikers end up cowboy camping a lot. Do you plan to use a bivy? If not, you might want to think about a water resistant shell.

You want something close to 2 lbs with 800 - 900 fill down. You can find deals if you are actively looking and have some patience. Maybe the most important piece of gear for a long distance hike.
