So cool! I grew up in Hollidaysburg and we often explored different caves in Sinking Valley. This was a blast from the past!

Fascinating! Do you know what creates the reddish and blue colors? The fourth from the last photo is stunning, very dramatic. is that a natural rock (shale?) formation or was there some type of collapse? The rocks running under and beyond look like they're in a dry stream bed. I'm guessing there's some fascinating geological history there. I love old historic places. When I was a kid, we visited Fort Michilimackinac - it was so fascinating then to us young'uns. Colonial Williamsburg was also quite interesting, even though it was very commercialized. Still, there's nothing like walking in an area with so much history. It's hard not to drift back in time and imagine what it really was like to live there. And we have our own Greenfield Village in Dearborn; that's a multi-day exploration trip, especially if someone wants to visit the Henry Ford Museum, which is equally fascinating. www.thehenryford.org/visit/greenfield-village/. Be sure to watch the video if you check out the link.
