Hey everyone,
First time poster, looking for a good trip to plan next summer with some friends. We're fairly new backpackers, did 3 days/2 nights in Yosemite this summer. Next year we're looking for something 4 or 5 days long out west. Teton crest trail has been at the top of my list, but I just recently found out about Tonquin. It looks nice, but i havent found a ton of info on it. We're also considering Banff or Glacier. Anyone have any insight on those? Or any alternatives we should look into?
Thanks

I've hiked the "complete" crest a few times and portions of it many. I wouldn't live in Greater Yellowstone if my bias didn't make it the greatest place on earth fir me.
I don't know if search here can go very far back. Backcountrypost.com has a wealth of information; mostly Utah and the Northern Rockies of WY, ID, MT.
Go south to North if you can, and start at HWY 22 instead of the Tram. If you come and get a walk up go any way you can.
There are some great sites just out of the park boundary. Alaska Basin is worth a rest day if you can, Static Peak is awesome and I like Mirror Lake area for camp. Sunset is simply not my cup of tea. In the park I like: Marion Lake, Death Canyon Shelf, South Cascade Upper Zone, and Holly Lake.
If you have a GOOD map and need some input message me. Please spend lots of money in my community. Or just have a great time. Shower and bunk at AAC's Grand Teton Climbers Ranch.
